Weather Summary:

Southwest Monsoon was active over the State.

Rainfall occurred at most places over the State. Active Monsoon conditions likely to continue for next 5 days.

Extremely heavy rainfall amounts (in cm): Subramanya (Dakshina Kannada dt) 21.

Very heavy rainfall amounts (in cm): Mulki (Dakshina Kannada dt) 20; Castle Rock (Uttara Kannada dt) 19; Mudubidre, Belthangadi (both Dakshina Kannada dt) 18 each; Dharmasthala (Dakshina Kannada dt), Bhagamandala (Kodagu dt), Jayapura (Chikkamagaluru dt) 17 each; Mani (Dakshina Kannada dt) 16; Kottigehara (Chikkamagaluru dt) 15; Karkala (Udupi dt), Sulya (Dakshina Kannada dt), Londa (Belagavi dt) 13 each; Mangaluru Airport, Puttur (Dakshina Kannada dt), Sringeri (Chikkamagaluru dt) 12 each.

Heavy rainfall amounts (in cm):: Udupi, Kollur (Udupi dt), Panambur (Dakshina Kannada dt), Balehonnur (Chikkamagaluru dt), Linganamakki (Shivamogga dt) 11 each; Siddapur (Uttara Kannada dt), Siddapura (Udupi dt), Mangaluru (Dakshina Kannada dt), Kalasa (Chikkamagaluru dt) 10 each.

Meteorological situations over the State:

The Low Pressure Area over south interior Odisha & neighbourhood now lies over coastal areas of south Odisha-north Andhra Pradesh & neighbourhood with the associated cyclonic circulation extending upto 7.6 km above mean sea level tilting southwestwards with height.

The off-shore trough at mean sea level from Gujarat coast to Karnataka Coast now runs from Gujarat coast to north Kerala coast.

The east-west shear zone now runs roughly along 20°N tilting southwestwards with height between 3.1 km & 5.8 km above mean sea level across North Peninsular India.
